The plot of the new romantic comedy-drama “Love Next Door” centers on Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min), a lady trying to turn her troubled life around, and Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In), the son of her mom’s friend, who is seen as the dark chapter in Bae Seok Ryu’s life. Director Yoo Je Won and writer Shin Ha Eun of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” are in charge of the drama.
Here are three main reasons to anticipate “Love Next Door” before its launch!
The reunion of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” writer Shin Ha Eun and director Yoo Je Won
The drama is much awaited since it is the return of writer Shin Ha Eun and director Yoo Je Won, who collaborated on the popular drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
Author Shin Ha Eun gave a brief explanation of how the drama’s plot came to be. “I wanted to tell a story about youth,” she clarified. I adapted the poem “Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind” by Samuel Ullman into a narrative about youth of all ages. This is a tale of the most commonplace, yet unique, people on the planet—their intense love, savage conflict, and quiet reconciliation.
“The story revolves around Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu, who have known each other since they were young,” she went on. The drama has an epic narrative that starts in the past, when their mothers made them become bathhouse buddies and ends with their growth, which they both recall differently. I hope people find it entertaining.
Director Yoo Je Won stressed, saying, “Jung Mo Eum (Kim Ji Eun), Kang Dan Ho (Yun Ji On), and many more people surrounding them have their own unique storylines. It’s not just Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu. The drama includes a variety of heartwarming and charming tales, including romance and parent-child and friend interactions.
“I hope you can have a moment of laughter while watching ‘Love Next Door,’ which tells stories about sharing each other’s joys and sorrows,” he continued.
Kim Ji Eun, Yun Ji On, Jung Hae In, and Jung So Min have great chemistry.
The powerful chemistry between Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, and Yun Ji On—the drama’s primary cast—should excite viewers. While Jung So Min portrays a daughter trying to start over, Jung Hae In plays Choi Seung Hyo, the ideal son. Starring with Kim Ji Eun is the wacky and amiable Jung Mo Eum, who thinks her body is made of superhero DNA. Yun Ji On portrays the empathetic social affairs journalist Kang Dan Ho.
“It’s not that I chose him; our project chose him,” said director Yoo Je Won, praising Jung Hae In. When it comes to his acting, Jung Hae In is earnest and thoughtful. He is an actor who takes his responsibilities very seriously.
Additionally, Yoo Je Won conveyed his gratitude to Jung So Min, with whom he had previously worked on the drama “Hundred Million Stars From the Sky.” “I trusted her acting skills,” he said. She has grown into a fantastic performer, and for that, I am grateful and proud. She excels not only in her portrayal of the intelligent Seok Ryu but also in her endearing sequences with her mother and Seung Hyo.
He continued, saying, “Kim Ji Eun has done a fantastic job highlighting Jung Mo Eum’s distinctive features. Her acting prowess frequently astounds me. Yun Ji On did an excellent job of capturing Kang Dan Ho’s essence. His charming eccentric side is charming, and you gradually come to like him.
The neighborhood of Hyeryeong’s grownups
With their superb acting, actors Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, and Lee Seung Joon—who portray the people of the Hyeryeong neighborhood—will give the drama more depth and intensity.
Na Mi Sook, played by Park Ji Young, is the mother of Bae Seok Ryu. Despite her outward stern exterior, Na Mi Sook genuinely cares for her kids. Seok Ryu’s father, Bae Geun Sik, is portrayed by Jo Han Chul as the proprietor of a tiny snack shop in the Hyeryeong district.
Choi Seung Hyo’s loving father Choi Kyung Jong, a medical professor, is portrayed by Lee Seung Joon, while Jang Young Nam plays her mother Seo Hye Sook.
In addition to expressing his gratitude for the players’ outstanding performances—which went above and beyond his expectations—director Yoo Je Won hinted that there will be mature romance in the Hyeryeong neighborhood story.
