In the latest music video for “You Broke My Heart,” Drake and Morgan Wallen have a dinner before receiving their just deserts.
The guys are shown in the video, which was directed by Theo Skudra, wrapping up supper at a classy restaurant and chatting about failed relationships and somewhat healed hearts. Wallen wisely(?) says to Drake, “I think she might’ve been the wrong girl anyway,” and the two focus on the night ahead and all the other fish in the sea.
Then, when Wallen and Drake walk to their car, hop in, and drive off, the camera follows them. At that moment, the automobile carrying the two superstars is destroyed by a bomb detonated by two ladies, Grace Matthews and Taylor Morris, who enter the frame. The two ladies continue to dance and sing along to “You Broke My Heart” as they celebrate the successful execution of their plan, and they don’t stop when the police eventually arrive.
Drake’s most recent album, For All the Dogs, was released in October and included the song “You Broke My Heart.” It was just listed as one of the 10 Best Rap Albums of 2023 by Rolling Stone. The album came after his solo debut in 2022, Honestly, Nevermind, and his album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2024. Three months after For All the Dogs came out, Drake released the third EP in his ongoing Scary Hours series.
Drake also traveled extensively in 2023, and he already has a number of dates scheduled for 2024 with J. Cole and 21 Savage. The journey titled “It’s All a Blur – Big as the What?” is slated to begin in Denver on January 18 and end in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 27.
