Kill Suicide Squad After debuting earlier this month, the Justice League has had a rough ride. The Rocksteady Studios game debuted on PCs and next-generation consoles, but its large Steam user base may worry both fans and the company about the game’s long-term viability.
The Rocksteady Studios-produced Batman: Arkham trilogy of video games was likewise a big hit with critics and players. It cleared the path for films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man by redefining the superhero genre. Suicide Squad: murder the Justice League was expected to launch with great anticipation despite some early criticism regarding the change to a live-service looter/shooter and the fact that players would be trying to murder the Justice League rather than play as them.
Reviews for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have been mixed overall, but based on the number of Steam users, it seems Rocksteady Studios may have gone too far with the adjustments. Although it was the first full weekend following the game’s debut, Forbes reports that on Saturday, February 3, the game reached its high with 13,459 players. That number is less than the 31,165 for Marvel’s Avengers and far less than the 316,750 peak gamers for Destiny 2. Destiny 2 had almost three times as many players even during its lowest point. In spite of its small user base, 85% of Steam users have rated it favorably.
Arkham Trilogy Beat Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
The game is rated far lower than other superhero games on Metacritic, with a score of 62. In particular, Arkham Asylum earned 92, while Arkham City and Arkham Knight got 94 and 87, respectively. These three games are unquestionably the best Batman Arkham games to date and among the best in the genre. Marvel’s Avengers and Gotham Knights both scored 67, whereas Marvel Midnight Suns scored an 83.
A substantial amount of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League DLC and seasons, including new player characters, missions, and weaponry, have already been teased by Rocksteady Studios. A studio that has already committed to the long-term development of the game will be concerned about such low player figures. It’s possible that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S player counts are higher because Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League also launched on next-generation consoles, but there’s no way to find out the data. As a result, it’s currently unknown if the player counts will be high enough to compensate for the game’s poor performance on Steam and guarantee its survival.
