As a competitor on Chuang Asia Thailand, the fifth season of the now-international Produce 101 China, Ouyang Didi recently set out on her idol adventure. Being the daughter of seasoned performers Ouyang Long and Fu Chuen, Didi was raised surrounded by the performing arts without a doubt. She is the youngest of three sisters; the other two are award-winning cellist-turned-actress Ouyang Nana, 23, and 27-year-old Ouyang Nini. She also has a family relationship with Taiwanese music singer Ouyang Fei Fei, who is her aunt.
Because Ouyang Didi was viewed as a nepotistic child, she faced a great deal of suspicion before to taking the stage at Chuang Asia Thailand. Didi also discloses that her family was reluctant about her intention to pursue a career in show business. The 19-year-old idol aspirant, who just moved up from eighth to fourth in the interim rankings, is performing admirably on Chuang Asia Thailand. “This is the first time in my life that I’ve felt like I’m appreciated by everyone just for being myself, rather than just because I’m someone’s daughter or their younger sister,” she remarked.
In addition, she expressed her gratitude to her parents and sisters, stating that at first, they had not supported her decision to be on the show. Being the youngest, they were worried about her safety. “I don’t regret my decision, I’ve learned a lot, so here, I’d like to tell them, I’m doing well,” she continued. Didi stated that she believes she is prepared to prove herself because her onstage performances are the reason fans are voting for her, not anything else. Despite their early misgivings, her family has supported her in the interim. Ouyang Nana, Didi’s best friend and sister, came on camera to support Didi.
