The Tyrant is a pursuit action drama that starts after a delivery error causes the last sample from a program known as the “Tyrant Program” to vanish. This starts a series of actions by which people with various goals compete to obtain the sample.
“The Tyrant,” which is helmed by Park Hoon Jung, who is well-known for critically praised films such as “New World” and “The Witch” movie series, started production to turn it into a movie. But as the show went on, it was decided to turn it into a four-part television series to properly capture the exciting story, complex characters, and forward-thinking storytelling.
Im Sang, a former agent entrusted with destroying the forces connected to the Tyrant Program, will be portrayed by Cha Seung Won.
In the role of Director Choi, who is associated with a government organization but functions covertly as the brains behind the Tyrant Program, Kim Seon Ho will display his enigmatic charm.
As Paul, a member of an international intelligence organization tasked with eradicating the last surviving Tyrant Program sample, Kim Kang Woo adds tension to the story.
Jo Yoon Soo, a novice actress, rounds out the cast as the talented engineer Ja Kyung, who is entrusted with stealing the final sample from the Tyrant Program.
The Tyrant, an original series onDisney+, is scheduled to premiere in the latter part of 2024.
