A returning character is hinted about in the upcoming Boruto Part 2 Chapter 9.
Today marks the return of Boruto Two Vortex and its latest Chapter 9. Spoilers for this chapter reveal a number of surprising turns in the plot, the most notable of which being Himawari’s eventual revelation of her true abilities and the tense battle between Boruto and Kawaki.
Another unexpected clue suggests that an old character from Boruto may return. In the opening scene of Chapter 9 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex, Kashin Koji and Boruto are shown in an abandoned area. In the background of the panels are various statues of stone snakes.
When Naruto, Sasuke, Sarada, and Chocho visited Orochimaru’s lair in Boruto Part 1, they saw statues resembling these ones. This small element raises the possibility that Orochimaru will reappear in the narrative.
Being at Orochimaru’s hideout could also indicate that Boruto and Kashin Koji have been in communication with one another during the three-year time gap. Being a man of many surprises, Orochimaru might readily help Boruto in that situation.
This notion is supported by the numerous ties that exist between Boruto and Orochimaru. Sasuke’s former master, Orochimaru, is now Boruto’s mentor. Mitsuki, the son of Orochimaru, has Boruto as his best friend. There is also a long history with Naruto and Orochimaru, albeit a generally bad one.
Chapter 8 offers further indication that Boruto may have been in communication with Orochimaru during the time skip and that the fabled Sannin may return. After three years, Boruto runs into Mitsuki in that manga chapter. The renegade ninja orders Mitsuki to go find Boruto even if Mitsuki has forgotten where he is, and he knows where to look.
The return of Orochimaru in Boruto will be a surprising yet fascinating development. Along with being the second most startling return thus far in Boruto Part 2, it will also occur in the same chapter as Kurama’s return.
