It’s always exciting to find Pokemon cards in the wild. Recently, a collector discovered an antique card in the most unlikely location: an old school bus.

A card that has been left behind may occasionally be saved and restored to some extent; minor flaws like wrinkles can be corrected. However, it can be much easier said than done. You probably won’t be able to save a card that has been dropped, say, on a crowded street.
Recently, a Pokemon TCG collector shared a Base Set 2 Weedle card they discovered online with fellow enthusiasts, revealing that they had taken it from the “depths of [a] 2001 school bus.” Even though the Weedle card was rather worn, it’s still a fantastic find.
Several admirers expressed their excitement at this peculiar finding, with one even saying that the original poster need to keep searching because the Charizard must be hiding somewhere. One individual stated that the card was “near mint,” and the other person urged the owner to have the card graded.
Even if the Weedle artwork from the previous sets isn’t extremely rare, collectors should still own it. It might be argued that the common cards from Base Set and Base Set 2 are undervalued despite their charm and individuality.
It’s intriguing to speculate as to which Pokemon cards from current sets might at some point be rediscovered by enthusiasts. Who knows? Perhaps in 2050, when restoring a bus, someone will discover a common Sunkern from Twilight Masquerade.
