In Destiny 2, Xur now sells Red Border Weapons after his redesign in The Final Shape, but the amount of craftable weapons that may be obtained is limited.
After Xur underwent a significant redesign in The Final Shape, the weekend vendor now offers more than just a few Exotics. All of Xur’s inventory consists of several engrams, exotic catalysts, and materials for constructing and upgrading equipment.
A random weapon from Xur’s loot table is rolled by the Strange Weapon Engram, one of these. Only during the Season of Plunder guns, these rolls may be Red Border Weapons. It is feasible to farm Strange Coins because they only cost 7 Strange Coins to purchase a Strange Weapon Engram.
Strange Engrams, which are obtained by raising Xur’s vendor rank, can also be used to obtain Red Border Weapons. This is a useful way to get extra Red Border Weapons without needing Strange Coins; one Guardian was able to use it to get a Sailspy Pitchglass.
August 2022 saw the beginning of the Season of Plunder, which lasted until December 2022. introducing to the sandbox these six seasonal, craftable weapons:
- War of Blood (Stasis SMG)
- Law of Brigand (Arc Sidearm)
- Absence of Relief (Stasis Shotgun)
- Stride of Planck (Arc Machine Gun)
- Pitchglass Sailspy (Arc Linear Fusion Rifle)
- Mettle (Arc Scout Rifle) tarnished
Brigand’s Law distinguishes out as the only Arc Sidearm that can roll Enhanced Voltshot, which extends the perk’s duration by two seconds, even though none of these are meta PvE weapons these days. Tarnished Mettle is a good choice in the material where Scout Rifles shine because it rolls both Demolitionist and Voltshot.
It is not necessary to rely solely on Xur for those searching Red Borders for these weapons. Utilizing Deepsight Harmonizers, an uncommon resource that turns compatible weapons into Red Borders, is another way. Eight can be obtained in Episode 1: Echoes via the Season Pass at ranks ranging from Rank 70 to Rank 185.
