Prepare for the next round of “Squid Game”!
Director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Dong Hyuk said in a letter dated August 1st that the highly anticipated “Squid Game” series will return for Season 2 on December 26th and that Season 3 will premiere in 2025.
“Squid Game” revolves around an enigmatic survival game where players can win up to 45.6 billion won, or roughly $33 million. Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who gave up on traveling to the US to follow his own objectives related to the lethal game he won in Season 1, is where the second season begins.
Seong Gi Hun, the lone survivor from Season 1, is seen in the updated still sporting the iconic green tracksuit that the Squid Game competitors wore. The audience is eager to learn how he ended up playing the games again and which ones he will play in the upcoming season.
Along with the letter, Netflix released a brand-new Season 2 trailer that shows the competitors engaging in a cutthroat struggle for survival once more. “It’s been three years,” inquires the frontman. The question “Do you want to play again?” along with the foreboding “The real game begins” add suspense to the forthcoming season.
Returning cast members Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and Wi Ha Joon will be joined by new cast members Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, Won Ji An, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, T.O.P., Lee Jin Wook, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, Kang Ae Sim, and Oh Dal Soo in “Squid Game 2,” it was previously announced.
