Tzuyu of TWICE has achieved great success in her solo Billboard chart debut!
Billboard said on September 17 local time that Tzuyu’s solo debut mini album “abouTZU” has debuted at No. 19 on its Top 200 Albums chart, which lists the most well-liked albums in the US.
Tzuyu joins colleagues Nayeon and Jihyo, who had previously peaked at No. 7 and No. 14 on the list, respectively, as the only other female K-pop soloist to ever make it into the top 100 of the Billboard 200.
“abouTZU” was the second best-selling album of the week in the US, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart this week in addition to taking the No. 2 slot on the Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts.
Interestingly, Tzuyu is just the second female K-pop soloist in history to rank in the top two on the Top Album Sales chart of Billboard. (Nayeon was the first; her solo debut mini album, “IM NAYEON,” and her second mini album, “NA,” both peaked at the top of the charts.)
Additionally, Tzuyu became the first female K-pop soloist to ever reach the top 5 of the chart when her song “abouTZU” debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart.
This week, Tzuyu debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s Artist 100, while her title single, “Run Away,” debuted at No. 6 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
To Tzuyu, congratulations!
