Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune 2, has been commended for his assistance in granting a dying fan’s dream.
Due to its stunning cinematography and superb character acting, Dune: Part Two is still a global phenomenon.
The film follows Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), Chani (Zendaya), and the Fremen people as they fight the Emperor and House of Harkonnen. It is a direct sequel to the science fiction epic released in 2021.
Despite the positive reviews the film has received since its release, one fan was able to watch the much-anticipated sequel as a final request, fulfilled by Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune 2.
Villeneuve grants Dune’s final request for a follow-up film.
A guy wishing to watch Dune: Part Two before its premiere contacts L’Avant, a company that specializes in guiding individuals through life, from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, which is Villeneuve’s hometown.
The man wanted to be flown to the Los Angeles premiere of L’Avant, and Villeneuve and his wife/producer Tanya Lapointe immediately granted his wish, according to CBC. However, Gagnon, the founder of L’Avant, explained that the man was too close to death and could not be removed from his place at his care center.
Villeneuve sent his aide to the care facility with Dune: Part Two on a laptop so that the man could view it, thus satisfying his final earthly wish.
“This man was able to watch the movie on his own, even though they had locked himself in a room at the Maison de soins palliatifs,” stated Gagnon. Regretfully, the man slept off and eventually passed away before seeing the film’s conclusion.
You don’t comprehend; it’s amazing what this man went through, Gagnon said to the couple, who were a little let down that he missed the dramatic conclusion. When a movie ends and you’re about to die, it means nothing. Everything was there for him.
“It’s for him; it’s for that man that we make films; it’s for the guy who said before he died, I want to see that film,” Villeneuve and Lapointe added.
