It is hoped by Jurgen Klopp that Andy Robertson will make a full recovery in January.
After dislocating his shoulder while on international duty, the captain of Scotland has been out of action since October. Kostas Tsimikas has filled in at left-back for Liverpool during his absence.
In response to a question about the left-back’s recovery status during his pre-game news conference prior to the Reds’ match against Arsenal, Klopp stated that Robertson is making good progress but still needs to complete some tasks before he can resume training.
He remarked, “I sat with him yesterday, and he’s actually doing well.” The shoulder is somewhat the issue. The remainder of the body appears normal, but the shoulder is absent.
“We must exercise a small amount of patience and extend it slightly. However, he is alright.
“He becomes frustrated since he can already perform all the physical labor and isn’t permitted to participate in ball training. Perhaps a little bit, but not properly.
“But in terms of time, I believe he will return soon once he is physically prepared to leave and given permission to travel shoulder-wise. We’re all hoping for January, but I’m not sure.
After missing the midweek League Cup triumph over West Ham, Ryan Gravenberch will be able to play against Arsenal. However, Klopp has announced that Diogo Jota and Alexis Mac Allister are still out. Additionally, he restated Liverpool’s earlier position that, in the wake of Joel Matip’s season-ending ACL injury, the club plans to replace the Cameroonian player internally as opposed to entering the January transfer window.
“Ryan has returned.” Though they’re not ready for tomorrow, Macca and Diogo are growing closer and closer, he remarked. “Long-term injuries are never good; Joel’s injury is one that needs to be addressed.
“We need to address it within, and happily we can, given the way the boy (Jarell Quansah) manifests himself.”
