Buying
What am I supposed to pay?
The most expensive hybrid model in the Pacifica lineup may cost over $61,000, while the base model starts at $40,000. Although you are receiving a ton of features, you have to pay for each and every one of them. Nevertheless, there aren’t many less expensive options; rivals like the Toyota and Honda Odyssey have comparable prices.
Regarding their comparative analysis, the Odyssey appears to be the most common rival to be cited with the Pacifica; nonetheless, it is in need of an update and appears somewhat basic when compared to the other models. The largest rival to the Pacifica is Toyota’s Sienna, which shares many features with the former and also has all-wheel drive. Additionally, Toyota’s hybrid technology has shown its worth across the range.
Naturally, there are also similar SUVs, but that’s a whole different story.
If we were to double down on a Pacifica, a lot of our decisions would be motivated by FOMO since we would want all the useful features and cool gadgets, which is difficult to achieve while keeping costs low. Even if the hybrid is quiet and efficient, the price does go up a bit, and you will also pay less if the battery isn’t maintained fully charged.
All of this means that, in our opinion, the regular Pacifica Limited is the better choice. All-wheel drive makes up for the lost fuel efficiency, and we still have a ton of options while staying around $60,000. This loses some of the more attractive exterior details, but whatever—it’s just a van, and as long as it doesn’t advertise “free candy” on the side, nobody will be too concerned.
