Elena Rybakina won her French Open First Round match with ease. The world’s fourth-ranked tennis player did not seem to be at ease at her press conference following her victory.
She thought all of the questions were dull and uninspired, so she ran out of things to say.
Tuesday at Roland Garros, Rybakina defeated Green Minen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to play Arantxa Rus in the second round. Shortly later, the Kazakhstani woman of Russian descent stood at the podium to talk about her performance. Before long, her patience was wearing thin.
The 24-year-old even became snarky in her comments, which were all extremely dry!
An examination into the weather first set off Rybakina. Her performance this year was better since she is well, unlike last year when she had to withdraw from the French Open owing to sickness. It has nothing to do with the circumstances, and she has been asked inquiries of that like for almost a full year at this point.
For the first time, Rybakina responded to the media at that very moment.
Soon after, she rolled her eyes in response to a query on the roof. Then things became tense.
In response to three more queries from the reporters, Rybakina showed no mercy. She showed especially little interest in talking about the colors of her dress. By the end, it really was awkward!
Rybakina is correct, to a certain extent. Not one question was really exciting or out of the ordinary; they were all rather generic. Nothing about the match or her character as a player was mentioned.
Extremely dull inquiries were boring Rybakina. The same monotony bores the fans who attend these press conferences and peruse the articles they write. Her sarcasm is well justified.
But having said that, Elena Rybakina prevailed in a dull First Round tennis match in straight sets. There wasn’t much for reporters to draw from!
