Fans of Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest are dissatisfied for one reason after seeing the new character images.
Fairy Tail, which aired from 2010 to 2019, was one of the most-watched anime series. It was adapted from the action fantasy manga by Hiro Mashima. Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest, the anime adaption of its sequel manga, reappears after a three-year break. J.C. Studio will animate the follow-up anime, which is scheduled to debut in July 2024.
The project’s studio finally released the anime’s main characters’ new character images, with a July release date scheduled. The main character, Natsu Dragneel, is shown in the character visual along with his pals, Happy and Charlés, as well as Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, and Wendy Marvell.
Fans, however, are not pleased with the new character’s appearance. Many claim that the character designs in the sequel are unchanged from the first one. Even though Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest is an extension of the original anime, fans still anticipated some unique features, such as distinct attire or haircuts, from the characters.
So, virtually nothing has changed, a Reddit user commented.
“It seems like nothing ever changes with Fairy Tail,” said another commenter.
A few users have observed that the new Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest character image appears slightly warped. They ask, “Is the image like squashed(?) or something? Although Lucy appears to have shorter limbs, she is now more stacked, haha.
A lot of fans also point out that since the previous anime’s conclusion was quite definitive, the second anime is meaningless as a whole. “Fairy Tail: 100 Years of Milking the Series to Death,” was written by a satirical user.
Despite being one of the most talked about anime in the past, Fairy Tail appears to be losing popularity, according to fan feedback. It remains to be seen if the anime sequel can alter that.
