The Sang siblings won hearts with their clever repartee in the popular drama Hidden Love from last summer. Sang Zhi’s narrative was the focal point of Hidden Love. Sang Yan now has his own spin-off, First Frost, in which production has already begun. Who will play Sang Yan and his love interest Wen Yifan has been the subject of considerable scrutiny. In the end, it appears that Zhang Ruonan and Bai Jingting were selected for the position.
Fans of the narrative, which is included in the book “Universe,” are devoted to it. Even a Manhua adaptation, titled Eternal Love, exists. It’s most likely the reason why, even before casting is announced, fans already have thoughts about what the key characters should look like. Fans were quite passionate when it came to suggesting who they think should play Sang Yan and Wen Yifan’s roles in the spin-off. I’m not sure why Victor Ma Boqian wasn’t chosen to play Sang Yan again in particular. He was definitely well-known for his role as Sang Yan in the original. However, some people conjecture that his appearance wasn’t exactly the same as Sang Yan’s in the book.
Zhang Ruonan, the actress, and Bai Jingting have both been spotted on the set now that the secret is (unofficially) out. We now have our Sang Yan and Wen Yifan, I think that’s safe to say. And in case anyone needed more evidence, viral pictures of the two acting out a grocery scene from the novel when they first appeared together should allay any last suspicions. Additionally, Zhang Miaoyi plays Sang Zhi, the sister of Sang Yan.
Frost begins by telling the tale of Wen Yifan and Sang Yan. After years apart, these two high school classmates cross paths again. Wen Yifan unexpectedly moves in with Sang Yan, the classmate she had rejected years prior, in a shared apartment. She eventually confesses her emotions for Sang Yan after being moved by his seemingly unceasing caring for her.
