In order to beat the massive NPC boss, which was sent onto the island by Fortnite’s Marvel live event featuring the actual Doctor Doom, gamers had to band together.
With the October 1 release of the third content patch, v31.30, Chapter 5 Season 4 is already past halfway through. Content centered around this year’s Fortnitemares event and the future season’s lore-based tasks are anticipated to be included in the next Fortnite update.
A conflict between Hope and Doom, however, has been hinted at by the recently added Part 6 Marvel missions, and it may break out before Season 4 concludes in November.

The Fortnite live event commenced on October 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM PT | 2 PM ET | 7 PM BST.
After Epic Games released the v31.30 update for the game, which included a countdown timer east of the Reckless Railways area on the Battle Royale island map, the event was first made public.
When the countdown eventually ended, Epic released a teaser trailer saying, “Doom is coming,” but it provided no further information on when Doctor Doom would appear.

In the center of every Battle Royale map, a gigantic Doctor Doom NPC boss would appear, and players would have to cooperate to fight him. Doctor Doom featured an overall health bar, much as the Pandora’s Box event, where players combined to deliver damage to gradually reduce his health.
But in just one hour, Doom’s health was totally destroyed, forcing him to flee as soon as possible by teleporting via a Rift.
As the countdown timer approached its last hour, several Rift Beacons could be seen progressively activating all around the map before Doom showed up. The live event then began with an in-game cutscene to signal his arrival with no time left.
Not long after, Epic shared the entire trailer on their official social media platforms. “A CALL TO HEROES: The battle is far from done! Alongside their social media post, the devs said, “Jump in now and help us take down Doom.”
What comes next?
Despite some players and leakers in the community expecting the mini-event may also kick off this year’s Fortnitemares event, this was not the case. Nonetheless, some Fortnitemare teases have been strewn over the map, such as pumpkins showing up in different parts of the island.
Hope needed to be ready to battle Doom, as indicated by the Part 6 Absolute Doom Story Quests, explaining how he would approach the island. However, loopers had to use Forecast Towers to vanquish Emma Frost on the island first.
Hope claims she must combat Doom because the Oracle’s prophecy indicates she “might” prevail in the conflict. In addition, Hope appears afraid of him and promises to attempt to stop him before he conquers the island.
However, some leaks revealed that a significant battle between Doom and Mephisto is on the horizon, bringing with it the second phase of Story Quests and the October 15th Fortnitemares update.
