The midsize Vistiq SUV, which Cadillac plans to fall somewhere between the Lyriq and Escalade IQ in terms of size and cost, has a name and a few pictures revealed.
It is anticipated that the three-row SUV will be on sale in 2025, with a model year of 2026. It will also be added to Cadillac’s expanding array of zero-emission cars, which already includes the base Optiq. According to John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac, “VISTIQ adds another compelling EV to the Cadillac lineup, reinforcing our commitment to an electric future.”
“In the next two years, Cadillac EVs will cover the majority of luxury SUV segments across critical global markets, building on our brand’s recent entry into the majority of luxury segments and providing customers with a range of choices.”Other than the name and where it will be in the lineup, Cadillac is not disclosing any information about the Vistiq. The pricing range for this vehicle is likely to be between $70,000 and $90,000, depending on the model level and available options. The Lyriq is available for as little as $64,000, while the Escalade IQ has an eye-watering starting price of $120,000. And then there’s the heart-stopping $340,000 Cadillac Celestiq, a custom ultra-luxury vehicle.
Similar to the other models, the Vistiq will be constructed on GM’s Ultium battery architecture, which is designed to be adaptable and versatile to accommodate a range of vehicle forms and types. Ultium can accommodate up to 200kWh of electricity, according to the manufacturer, meaning a driving range of up to 400 miles is possible. The long-range variant of the SUV, the Escalade IQ, is anticipated to have a range of up to 450 miles.
Many of the design elements that were initially seen on the Lyriq, such as flush door handles and a false grille with a diamond-cut pattern, are also being carried over to the Vistiq. Similar to the Lyriq, the side panels have indentations, and the front and back lights are nearly the same. The Vistiq, a three-row SUV, will go up against other mid- to full-size SUVs such as the Kia EV9, the Tesla Model X (which is becoming rather old), and the Rivian R1S. The Volvo EX90 and Lucid Gravity are two more upcoming three-row EVs.
