While many of us might sympathize with missing the excitement and cheer of the holidays, one small cat is more depressed than the rest.
A stunning Bengal cat who is unsure of what happened to their cherished Christmas tree was featured in a video posted on TikTok on January 7th by user Flounder Cat (@floundercat).
Look at this!
A 14-second video captures the complete melancholy of a cat who truly wants Christmas to arrive already.
One cat really misses the busy holiday season
On TikTok, Flounder is a well-known figure. We frequently get to see this Bengal go on absurd adventures.
However, she can’t recall ever being in a scenario as depressing as this one. Why is the lovely princess so agitated? The Yuletide tree has vanished.
Flounder is standing in the area where their tree used to be in the heartbreakingly funny video, and they’re not sure why it’s gone.
The commentary on the video says, “Very, very sorry about the tree being “all done.” And Flounder can only think of one thing to do: scream in order to bring that tree back.
“Sitting in the same spot as before. screaming for several hours.”
It’s certainly not hilarious to witness a distressed cat, but it’s acceptable to giggle inoffensively at this cat. Thousands of people are acting in this manner in the comment area.
A commentator made the joke, “You give howly meowly a tree right now, you monster,”
“Tree of emotional support,” said another.
Another person said, “Get the cat a mini, mini tree.”
Another viewer said, “She’s searching everywhere like it might be up on the ceiling or something.”
Another yelled, “Put the tree back!” “She needs it!”
Do Cats Have Depression?
Cats can experience depression, too, and although Flounder’s sadness at missing her tree may not be entirely cat-related, it could play a part.
PetMD states that cats may experience depression as a result of losing a family member, having their schedule altered, relocating to a new house, or experiencing a change in their physical health.
“Some depressed cats may exhibit very obvious changes in behavior, whereas other cats may only exhibit subtle signs that you need to carefully look for,” according to experts.
PetMD lists a number of symptoms, such as decreased grooming time, decreased playtime with toys, urinating outside of the litter box, and elevated vocalizations.
If your cat seems depressed, spending more time with them will help lift their spirits.
“Some cats may enjoy ear rubs, scratches on the side of their face or under the chin, or even being brushed,” they say.
We’re hoping the founder quickly regains her sense of self. Alternatively, her parents buy her a new tree.
