Alfira is now a more detailed temporary companion for players to fall in love with thanks to the Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7. However, recruiting her for a longer period is still possible, albeit it’s not easy.
On paper, being a Dark Urge is entertaining. During your trip, you can finally act on all those desires and become completely evil. But after just one night with the beautiful Alfira, who swiftly disappears from their lives, many begin to second-guess their decisions in life.
Since then, supporters have been coming up with inventive strategies to avert the impending disaster and hire her on a permanent basis. Thankfully, this is now possible thanks to a few adjustments made in Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 7. However, it’s not that simple to do.
The steps to enlist Alfira in Baldur’s Gate III
On the Reddit page for Baldur’s Gate 3, a user shared their method for getting Alfira as a companion, complete with all of her stuff.
They employ the following techniques:
- Avoid taking extended naps.
- Complete Goblin vs. Grove in Act 1.
- Visit Grymforge.
- After killing Dark Urge and placing him in your pocket (I did this with a Tav on multiplayer; not sure if it works with other companions), trigger Alfira to join your camp (make sure you have room for her to be in your party).
- Proceed to the Last Light Inn and place Alfira in the designated chair. Next, speak with her, fulfill her objective, and (still without much sleep) save the Tiefling at Moonrise.
- Potent Robe, claim your prize.
- Put Alfira in your pocket after killing her.
- Long rest till you kill Quill and obtain the deathstalker in your camp (since the long rest scene was delayed and if it is not skipped, it will trigger again).
- Withers, bring Alfira back to life.
It’s also important to remember that “you have to finish the entire Act 2 without long rest before you kill Aflira because once you kill her the game marks her as dead, she doesn’t talk anymore.” If you want the bardic inspiration as well.
Therefore, since you can’t take extended stretches of rest, being a full companion will require you to be incredibly patient and strategic in your conflicts.
This is obviously a quite involved method to make sure she is present, but for many players, it is their greatest chance of avoiding heartache.
It’s superfluous, overly intricate, and illogical in general. In short: I love it!” One player made a joke, to which many others responded, saying that as players figure out quicker ways to bring in the cherished Tiefling, the technique would undoubtedly be “refined in the coming weeks.”
Minthara is another example of a character designed in this manner; players were able to recruit her without demolishing the Druid Grove.
Thus, even though it could be a bit complicated, this is a guaranteed method to prevent any heartbreak and acquire a really strong Bard friend.
