The iOS 17.5 beta has been released to the public by Apple. This is how to install iOS 17.5 on your iPhone if you want to use new features before a stable release becomes available.
The major iOS 17.5 release includes some features never before seen in iOS history. For example, it will abide by the EU’s DMA rules, letting consumers download software from independent app shops.
The updated version also includes various design adjustments and defense against tracker stalking. When the update’s stable version will be available is unknown.
To install iOS 17.5 beta on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- Enroll in Apple’s beta program first. Visit the sign-up website for the Apple Beta Software Program. To proceed, tap the Sign Up button and input your Apple ID.
- After completing the registration process, go to Settings on your iPhone and select General.
- Choose “Software Update.”
- After selecting iOS 17 Public beta, tap Beta updates.
- You can choose to update to the iOS 17.5 Public beta by going back to the software update page.
- Select Update Tonight to let your iPhone install updates automatically while you’re asleep, or Update Now to apply the update quickly.
- As always, making a backup before applying updates is a smart idea. Even though iPhone installations run smoothly most of the time, you don’t want anything to go wrong and erase your data. You could also notice a new “Block All Participants” option for group FaceTime chats and a color-changing widget for Apple Podcast in addition to the improvements we just covered.
