Here’s what you need to know about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which promises to correct its most contentious episode yet in a new edition.
In 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen is making headlines once more thanks to its record-breaking Crunchyroll Anime Awards victories. In addition, the series has big plans for its sixth anniversary, which include the publication of Volume 26 and the Shibuya Incident Arc on Blu-ray.
Last year, the anime generated a lot of controversy, particularly after the Shibuya Incident, in which a number of artists revealed the deplorable working conditions at MAPPA either directly or indirectly. The situation just grew worse every week that went by. The issue surrounding Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17 ultimately began when rumors began to circulate that the episode was unfinished.
Not to add that Sukuna vs. Mahoraga was animated by well-known One Piece animator Vincent Chansard, who visited as a guest animator for this particular episode. He then declared right away that he will never again work for MAPPA. This is how the most contentious episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be fixed.
There will be extra sequences from Episode 17 on the Blu-ray release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s official website revealed earlier today that Japan will host a special one-week screening of volumes 4 and 5 on Blu-ray and DVD beginning on March 29. Episodes 17, 18, 19, and 20 from the second season will be screened.
Well-known JJK accounts verified that the sequence will be added and revised in the Blu-ray release.
“The Blu-ray version of the Sukuna vs. Mahoraga fight will be corrected and extended,” stated another user. We will see some moments that were omitted from the TV version in their entirety as well as some significant edits made to the show.
Itsuki Tsuchigami, one of the animators from JJK Season 2, is also advertising the Blu-ray on Twitter. “I think episode 41 is a step above what you might imagine with “additional cuts included,” so if you’re into things, I think you should buy the video software. Perhaps some individuals believe they are the same.
Tsuchigami contributed to the historic Sukuna vs. Mahoraga incident as well. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen had nothing but appreciation for the amazing episode, even after learning about the conditions under which the animators worked day and night on the anime. Right now, it’s ranked #2 among all episodes on IMDb. Fans are undoubtedly as thrilled as ever about the latest information.
One user said, “I can’t wait to see the epic battle between Sukuna and Mahoraga and Sukuna’s Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine with new edits and corrected footage in its full grandeur on the Blu-ray release of S2 E41 “Thunderclap, Part 2.”
Another person wrote: “17 This is both my favorite episode of the second season and the episode of the wasted decade because it could have been much better if the second season’s development had not encountered setbacks. ecstatic about the Blu-ray debut.
