Jujutsu Kaisen Should Megumi Be Blamed for Recent Tragedies

In the dark and supernatural world of Jujutsu Kaisen, sorcerers battle curses, demons, and their own inner demons. Among the central characters, Megumi Fushiguro has faced immense challenges, both as a sorcerer and as a vessel for the cursed spirit Sukuna. But is he truly to blame for the recent tragedies that have unfolded?

The Burden of Being Sukuna’s Vessel

Megumi’s journey begins with a tragic backstory. His entire reason for becoming a sorcerer revolves around his sister, Tsumiki, who was taken by curses. His determination to save her drives him forward, even as he grapples with the dark forces within him.

Sukuna, the King of Curses, forcibly makes Megumi his vessel. The villain recognizes Megumi’s potential during the Juvenile Center mission and crushes his soul, leaving him in despair. Megumi becomes a pawn in Sukuna’s game, a cage for the cursed spirit much like Yuji Itadori.

The Controversial Chapter 261

Chapter 261 of the manga intensified the debate around Megumi. As sorcerers fight to defeat Sukuna, Megumi’s refusal to return with Yuji and Yuta complicates matters. Fan-favorite characters die, and the stakes rise. Yuta, who can manipulate souls, risks everything to save Megumi, but the latter remains steadfast in his decision.

The Unforeseen Consequences

Megumi’s refusal sets off a chain of events. Yuta is gravely injured, and Rika, who keeps him conscious, allows him to take over Satoru Gojo’s body. Yuta’s fate remains uncertain, as his ability to copy techniques has a time limit. Meanwhile, Yuji’s attempt to save Megumi results in Sukuna damaging his eye, leaving him weakened.

Is the Hate Justified?

Despite the tragedies, blaming Megumi entirely would be unfair. His actions are driven by love for Tsumiki and a desire to protect others. Sukuna exploits Megumi’s inherited technique to kill Tsumiki, but it’s not Megumi’s fault. He’s a victim of circumstance, caught between duty and personal loss.

In Summary:

  • Megumi bears the weight of being Sukuna’s vessel.
  • Chapter 261 intensified the debate around his character.
  • Unforeseen consequences ripple through the story.
  • Hate toward Megumi should consider his motivations and struggles.

Ultimately, Jujutsu Kaisen reminds us that heroes and villains alike are shaped by their pasts and the choices they make. Megumi’s journey is far from over, and as fans, we can empathize with his complex situation.
