Pokemon Go enthusiasts are eager for the long-awaited Legendary Pokemon to make its appearance at this summer’s Go Fest thanks to Niantic’s smart teaser about the solar eclipse.
Pokemon Go fans were in for a treat when Niantic revealed during the solar eclipse that Necrozma will make her debut during this summer’s Pokemon Go Fest 2024.
“This upcoming #eclipse portends dark adventures in #PokemonGO,” Niantic wrote alongside a video of an eclipse and Necrozma’s silhouette as it was starting to become visible throughout North America.
Fans are enthusiastic about the reveal and its timing because Necrozma is a Legendary from Pokemon Sun and Moon with various forms inspired by solar and lunar eclipses.
One person on Twitter said, “This is probably the coolest way to announce this.”
Someone someone said, “Now this is smart marketing.”
It’s unclear at this time if Ultra Necrozma, Dawn Wings, Dusk Mane, and Necrozma’s base form will be available during Go Fest. Nearer to the event, Necrozma’s details and whether or not it will be restricted to attendees with event tickets will probably be revealed.
Necrozma isn’t the only uncommon Pokemon making its premiere at this year’s Go Fest, though; Niantic has also hinted to the Mythical Marshadow.
The first Pokemon Go Fest event takes place in person in Sendai, Japan from May 30 to June 2. In preparation for the global event that takes place on July 13 and 14, additional live events are scheduled for Madrid (June 14–16) and New York City (July 5–7).
