Filming for Blossom 九重紫 concluded last week, and I must admit that, with Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui in the lead parts, I like the cast. This is yet another tale of a heroine’s rebirth, this one based on the same-titled novel that appears to be rather popular right now. Although the cast isn’t exactly a who’s who of Hollywood stars, there is undoubtedly promise, and the two leads deserve their chance.
Considering that the majority of people would be familiar with the 28-year-old actress from The Untamed, where she was criticized for being the “female.” She even had a contentious reputation, purportedly because of her nature in reality TV, but things have unquestionably improved with time. She’s beginning to gain popularity, and I have to admit, I’m one of them. As for 27-year-old Li Yunrui, he’s mostly been cast in supporting or secondary roles, including his recent portrayal of the charismatic antagonist in Scent of Time. There’s also his most recent role in The Last Immortal.
Blossom also stars Snow Kong who’s been racking up acting projects since debuting with THE9 and X NINE’s Xia Zhiguang who’s fresh from the success of The Spirealm. This is another one produced by Youhug Media.
