“Midnight Romance in Hagwon,” directed by Ahn Pan Seok of the popular drama “Something in the Rain,” is set in Daechi, a district known for being the seat of private education in Korea. The story revolves around a teacher who works nonstop to help a kid named Lee Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon) get into a prominent university. In a strange turn of events, Lee Joon Ho eventually resigns from a big firm and rejoins the school as a rookie instructor because, as an adult, he can’t stop thinking about his first love, his academy teacher Seo Hye Jin (Jung Ryeo Won).
Seo Hye Jin and Lee Joon Ho can be seen strolling side by side down the street after work in the just published poster below. Lee Joon Ho is staring at Seo Hye Jin with care and affection, while Seo Hye Jin is soaking up the soothing atmosphere of the evening.
Another billboard features Lee Joon Ho and Seo Hye Jin enjoying some alone time at the hagwon, or Korean academy after everyone has departed and the lights have been turned off. Seated close together, the two lean in toward each other as though they are going to kiss. With great care, Lee Joon Ho draws Seo Hye Jin out so that he can feel her breath. Seo Hye Jin silently closes her eyes at his touch, hinting at a shift in their relationship from that of teacher and pupil.
“Midnight Romance in Hagwon” will be a drama where viewers may experience both heart-pounding moments and strong anxiety, according to the production team. A thrilling romance will be completed by the nuanced performances of Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon, so please enjoy it.
