When game publisher Nacon prepares to reveal more of its new open-world survival game, which is set in the terrifying future depicted in the films, fans of the venerable Terminator franchise may want to mark February 29 on their calendars.
One of the biggest science fiction franchises, Terminator tells the tale of an army of deadly, time-traveling robots and the heroic humans who battle to stop them from taking over the planet.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day was released in 1991, and although its successors have all been controversial in different ways, the series has remained popular in a number of media.
This extends to video games, since over the years, innumerable tie-in titles in all genres have been released in conjunction with the Terminator franchise. These include platform shooters with side-scrolling gameplay inspired by the Terminator movies, arcade first-person shooter games that place players in front of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s notorious T-800, and even cross-over games like Fortnite and Mortal Kombat 11. Terminator: Resistance, a contentious first-person shooter from Reef Entertainment, gained a cult following despite mixed reviews that criticized the game’s unpolished AI and gameplay elements. The game was published more recently.
Fans of the Terminator video games now have a new event to look forward to on February 29: a new Nacon Connect livestream from RoboCop: Rogue City publisher Nacon, featuring 30 minutes of fresh footage for several upcoming projects. The games in this lineup are GreedFall 2: The Dying World, Ravenswatch, Crown Wars: The Black Prince, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, and the Terminator game, which was not yet named when it was first revealed in 2022.
Gamers Will Experience A Robot Apocalypse in Nacon’s Terminator Video Game
Nacon Studio Milan is presently working on an open-world survival game that takes place between the creation of John Connor’s human resistance movement and Judgment Day, the nuclear attack that destroyed most of humanity and gave rise to the supercomputer AI Skynet. Players will assume the role of a group of survivors battling to survive against the expanding Terminator army, as Nacon disclosed at the time the game was unveiled. The legendary Brad Fiedel tune from The Terminator was heard in a 2022 teaser trailer as the T-800 Terminator hunted someone in a warehouse.
On February 29, during Nacon Direct, fans will finally get to see more of Nacon’s untitled video game, Terminator. The premise sounds exciting. The official title of the game, a potential release date, gameplay clips, and additional details about what players can anticipate while reliving the early stages of the war against the machines that were menacingly hinted at in the iconic Terminator movies will probably be included in this.
