Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming light novel featuring the much-loved character Rorona Zoro from One Piece, written by someone other than Eiichiro Oda.
Luffy’s right-hand man and first mate is Rorona Zoro. He makes his debut in chapter 2 and has remained Luffy’s reliable ally ever since. In the process of gaining additional allies, the two had gone a long way in their trip. But their journey is far from over.
A light book detailing Zoro’s background prior to joining the crew has been revealed by One Piece, as the manga moves forward with the Egghead Arc. More about his life as a pirate hunter will become clear. But the book wouldn’t be written by Eiichiro Oda. The book’s publication date is still pending confirmation.
Rather, Jun Esaka, a well-known light novelist best known for her works on Naruto Shinden, Sasuke Retsuden, and Kakashi Retsuden, is taking the lead. He even penned Heroines, a One Piece book with a strong female cast.
For this reason, Zoro’s light book is much awaited even if it won’t be canonical to One Piece. Zoro set out from his homeland to find the world’s most formidable swordsman, Mihawk. His desire was to vanquish him and take the title for himself.
Initially, he told his childhood buddy Kuina about this dream. But following her untimely passing, he was determined to fulfill that ambition for the two of them.
On his search for Mihawk, he gets lost though, and ends up turning into a pirate hunter. He began working with Yosaku and Johnny as well. Before meeting Luffy, Zoro spent years working as a pirate hunter; after that, his life was completely different.
