This light comedy follows the adventures of three high-school girls and their romantic endeavors. Maid-Sama is a good show for fans who like romantic soap operas.

There are several themes in this anime series: tsundere, maids, high-school romance, and love triangles! As the series progresses, the stories of more and more characters overlap. The drama and silliness involved will keep you hooked. What romance doesn’t have a little silliness involved? Eventually, two of the girls manage to win their lovers’ hearts.

Maid-Sama is one of the most popular low-stake anime romances, mostly among female audiences. It has only 26 episodes and a special episode. Despite its popularity, the show didn’t get a second season. Anyhow, with its story, Maid-Sama is sure to please anyone who is looking for something lighthearted to watch.

4. Horimiya (2021)

Horimiya is an anime that you should watch if you’re searching for a strong female lead. The story centers on Kyoko Hori, a well-liked honor student in high school who undergoes significant character growth.

Hori befriends a boy, and as their time together grows, their friendship gradually blossoms into an unanticipated romance. Horimiya depicts their awkward, romantic moments, which are guaranteed to make people swoon.

There are up to 13 episodes in Horimiya, and the second season hasn’t been released yet. Through the romantic relationship between Hori and a young kid, this harmless and low-stakes anime series invites viewers to be more accepting of others.

This well-known anime series centers on a girl who struggles with social anxiety, as the title already makes clear.

Komi is a shy high school girl who struggles with extreme social anxiety, making it difficult for her to talk to people in confidence. Even yet, Komi is well-known at the school for her grace and beauty.

While Komi is spending the summer at her grandmother’s, she meets a boy. After Tadano and Komi become friends, they spend all of their time together—playing video games, going out to eat, etc. Komi finds that spending time with Tadano helps her get over her social nervousness and shyness.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t last since Komi needs to return home as the summer comes to a close. The majority of us had summer flings as children, and Komi Can’t Communicate is just another one with a heartbreaking conclusion. There are only 24 episodes in this series, and the second season is not yet available.

2. Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku (2018)

As a devoted anime enthusiast, you are undoubtedly aware that the term “otaku” describes someone who is enamored with manga and anime. This Japanese animation series boasts an original plot and a lighthearted tone.

This series depicts the difficulties two adult otakus face in sustaining a relationship as they try to strike a balance between their personal and professional lives. These two adults are Hirotaka, an obsessive gamer, and Narumi, a 26-year-old yaoi fangirl.

With just 11 series, the Wotakoi series is unusual among rom-com anime in that it features a lot of adult humor. Discover how the two grownups, who met years after middle school, manage to keep their romance going by watching this low-stakes romantic comedy anime.

The girl agrees, but only on the requirement that they get married first. Naturally, Nasa concurs, and the result is a show full of tension and adorable romantic moments.

There are two seasons of this show, each with sixteen episodes. Tonikawa is a satisfying treat for lovers of romance that will make you happy.

Final Thoughts

That’s it; the romance anime series listed above are low-key and don’t feature intricate characters or themes. For those who simply want to unwind, this makes it simple to watch.
