Tao Hua Ying Jiang Shan 桃花映江山, Liu Xueyi, and Meng Ziyi’s most recent costume history appears to be a contest of wills and cunning. Clearly, one needs to be ten steps ahead of the game at all times when dealing with the schemes of evil minds. If not, a political enemy will frame you and drive you into a political marriage of convenience. Even so, it appears like the husband and wife are always competing with one another in a game of cunning as they plot to seize control and manipulate others. Hell, I can’t even begin to count how many times they attempted to sext in the trailer!
In this narrative of a corrupt minister and a princess from a destroyed country turning from rivals to lovers, Liu Xueyi and Meng Ziyi play Shen Zaiye and Jiang Taohua. One is crafty and brilliant, the other merciless. Who do you think will prevail in this bravery and cunning contest? The key to success is undoubtedly strategy, particularly when they soon have to confront a formidable shared foe. Just picture the fireworks that will ensue when a husband and wife band together to fight for their lives.
