Everyone is eager to see what the new Terminator anime on Netflix, Terminator Zero, will bring to the franchise.
It’s looking like 2024 will be a fantastic year for anime adaptations of Western media. Alongside films like Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim and Suicide Squad Isekai, Terminator has been added to the roster.
On August 29, 2024, the anime series, presented by Netflix, will be made available on the streaming platform. Strangely, in the science fiction series, that marks the 27th anniversary of the predicted Judgement Day.
Production I.G., the company behind Psycho-Pass, Heavenly Delusion, and the legendary Ghost in the Shell (1995) film, is the animator of the series. This project is being directed by the renowned character designer and filmmaker Masashi Kudo.
Netflix has unveiled the anime series’ first key image. The first official sneak peek will be unveiled on July 5 at Anime Expo 2024. There’s been no official confirmation yet, however there are rumors that the series will consist of eight episodes.
The new television series has quite a few Terminator movie fans thrilled. While some are excited to see what the spin-off has to offer, others think this will be the catalyst to bring the franchise back to life following the lackluster reception that its previous offerings received.
The group that created Ghost in the Shell is a perfect fit. “I’m hoping this will be the thing that saves the Terminator franchise,” another X user said, “This might beat all the recent films in the franchise.”
“Wow, the thought of an anime based on the Terminator really excites me.” I adore the films and grew up watching them all with my dad. On Reddit, someone else said, “I hope this works out.
Logan and the poster for Terminator Zero are being compared by many. “Reminds me of the Logan poster (this is a compliment), lol,” a fan commented. Supported by another: “T2 and Logan vibes.” This one is going to have some heartbreaking moments.
