If Nobara’s passing in Jujutsu Kaisen wasn’t tragic enough, Yuji Itadori has made the character even more tragic.
Popular characters are often killed off in Jujutsu Kaisen. The anime’s second season has two incredibly tragic storylines, each with its fair share of tragedies. During the second season’s course, The Shibuya Incident Arc, the realm of Jujutsu faces numerous formidable adversaries.
Numerous beloved characters endure terrible suffering, with a few even meeting an honorable end. The sole female member of the core trio, Nobara Kugisaki, has long enjoyed popularity among followers. She is not just a superb Jujutsu Sorcerer but also an ideal combat partner for Yuji Itadori.
In addition to her special talent, she is fearless in the face of formidable opponents and can utilize Black Flash. Mahito causes her to sustain deadly injuries, and she never makes a comeback in the series. Even though Nobara’s passing isn’t formally verified in Jujutsu Kaisen, all the indications point to that awful possibility.
In what way did Jujutsu Kaisen heighten the tragedy of Nobara’s death?
This month marks the sixth anniversary of Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which is also hosting its fourth official popularity survey. A few characters’ new descriptions are also being shared by the series. Yuji Itadori, the series’ protagonist, is described as follows: “He lives to fulfill his role.” He desires to keep Kugisaki’s seat unoccupied.
Although the manga hasn’t said outright that she is dead, there is almost no chance that she will survive. Yuji, who continues to hold himself responsible for the deaths of numerous individuals, including Nobara, was present when the catastrophe occurred.
Megumi is taken aback by Yuji’s unusually harsh behavior toward Hana Kurusu in Chapter 210. Megumi inquires about it, and Yuji admits that he fears Hana displacing Nobara in his life. Even though he is certain that Nobara will never come back, he still doesn’t want anyone else to replace her.
She will be the only girl in their trio that matters to him. Yuji’s description of the “seat open” phrase implies more than meets the eye. It demonstrates the extent of the void Nobara left behind in his life. That is still the same now. Nobara vanished, and none of the characters ever spoke of her again—it was as though she had never existed at all.
But to this day, only Yuji remembers her. He questions Megumi about Nobara’s illness in Chapter 144, but she doesn’t answer. Yuji clenches his hands and says, “I get it,” twice, taking the stillness as an answer. Once more, this is a significant clue to Nobara’s doom.
