Nothing compares to witnessing an intense love tale that entices you into its arms. The couples in these tales frequently show courage in the face of adversity, and their emotions remain constant despite the world’s opposition against them. They accept separation, betrayal, love, heartache, and misunderstandings with grace. These seven C-dramas demonstrate how love endures the ages.
“Lighter and Princess”
Chen Fei Yu’s character Li Xun is a computer whiz. He is capable of cracking any code, creating any program, and breaking into any system. His calm, self-assured manner frequently comes across as calculating and haughty. His classmate Zhu Yun (Zhang Jing Yi) is initially annoyed by his demeanor but eventually finds herself drawn to the enigmatic and distant Li Xun. He, however, is equally enthralled with Zhu Yun’s naiveté and loyalty. Because of how different her reality is from his troubled history, he lovingly refers to her as “Princess.” A breathtakingly lovely love tale between the two emerges. The deck is stacked against them as they attempt to establish a future together. The mother of Zhu Yun is a teacher, and she despises Li Xun. Li Xun is the target of a betrayal and stabbing by their alleged best friend Gao Jian Hong (Zhao Zhi Wei), which has grave consequences for both Li Xun and Zhu Yun. For the pair, Li Xun’s imprisonment signifies the end of the path. Three years later, they cross paths again, and it appears that nothing changed. Will they finally get the happy ending they have been so denied throughout life, though?
“Lighter and Princess” is a captivating novel that will keep you captivated and check all the boxes. Your heart will skip a beat because of the lead couple’s effortless yet intense chemistry. Zhang Jing Yi is charmingly appealing, and her contagious smile brightens up the screen. Chen Fei Yu matches his role, bringing up the gloomy intensity of Li Xun. For true romantics, it’s a must-watch.
“Fireworks of My Heart”
Yang Yang is a firefighter named Song Yan. He is a fierce taskmaster and brave leader who guards his private life. He keeps a picture of a girl on a lighter close to him, and everyone is fascinated by it, but he won’t say anything. However, the past resurfaces when he encounters hospital doctor Xu Qin (Wang Chu Ran). Her powerful family damaged his prospects, and she is the high school sweetheart who broke his heart. Does Song Yan no longer have any involvement with Xu Qin?
The music for Yang Yang’s interpretation of Song Yan is “Fireworks of My Heart.” He is the perfect example of Mr. Reliable—a sincere officer and an ardent lover. There’s also a lot of chemistry between the leads. The bromance between Song Yan and Vin Zhang’s Suo Jun adds to the romance and wins.
“Fall in Love”
Jing Zhi Xia (Joey Chua) is the manager of a plush hotel. The arrival of a guest at her hotel brings back a surge of memories of her past. The man is none other than Fu Ze Yi (Xiao Kai Zhong), an heir to a conglomerate, who had mercilessly broken her heart years ago. But the twist in the tale is that Fu Ze Yi has a Dissociative Personality Disorder. He has two personalities: the calculating Fu Ze Yi and the warm-hearted Lin. The problem starts when both personalities fall in love with Zhi Xia.
“Fall in Love” is crisp and succinct in its narrative. There is no added drama, but it has a smooth storyline which is complemented by good performances. As Zhi Xia helps Ze Yi/Lin overcome his trauma, it makes you want to root for her. And Xiao Kai Zhong will sweep you off your feet with his charm.
“Road Home”
Middle school sweethearts Gui Xiao (Tan Song Yun) and Lu Yan Chen (Jing Bo Ran) had been together through their adolescence. But life throws an odd curve ball. The situation in Gui Xiao’s household changes, and Lu Yan Chen moves away and enrolls in the police academy. Despite their best efforts, their long-distance relationship ends in failure because of their circumstances and their parents’ disapproval, and they part ways. When Gui Xiao and Lu Yan Chen finally meet years later, he is at a loss for words with her. Is this the last chance they have?
The story of “Road Home” may have a few holes in it, but the chemistry between the lead couple is so compelling that you can forgive the odd mistake. Who doesn’t enjoy a lush romance between long-lost lovers, after all? In addition, Jing Bo Ran, who plays Lu Yan Chen, excels in every area and has a nice uniform.
“All Out of Love”
Though there are some similarities between this and “Autumn in My Heart,” the story of two half-siblings falling in love is the only one. Liang Sheng (Ma Tian Yu) and Jiang Sheng (Sun Yi) had a rough upbringing. As they grew up together, they could always count on one another. Though they are unrelated to one another, they appear to be step-siblings to the outside world, so feelings grow but are repressed. Jiang Sheng searches for Liang Sheng when he meets with an accident and vanishes without a trace, but she is unable to locate him. Years later, Jiang Sheng is blissfully married to Cheng Tian You (Wallace Chung), but not before Liang Sheng reappears and declares his unwavering love for her.
With seventy episodes of love and heartache, “All Out of Love” is a lengthy drama. The narrative is captivating, leaving you eager to find out Jiang Sheng’s ultimate choice and who will benefit from it. Sun Yi does a great job of highlighting the absurdity of her predicament, in which she is torn between two guys.
“Here to Heart”
After an amazing career spell in London, Wen Nuan (Janine Chang) is about to make her way back to Shanghai. Zhan Nan Xian, also known as Zhang Han, is the creator of a successful high-tech business. Wen Nuan accepts a job as an assistant executive in his organization, a reduction in rank from her prior role. It appears that Nan Xian does not have much affection for Wen Nuan, until you remember that she was his high school love interest who caused him great pain. Years later, when they find themselves face to face once more, old emotions and resentment from the past come back to haunt them. Is Nan Xian willing to give Wen Nuan another chance?
Although “Here to Heart” is a lengthy and captivating film, there are moments when you’d prefer to watch the love tale because of all the different subplots. However, there is a throbbing push and pull between the couple in the boardroom and elsewhere. On-screen, Janine Chang and Zhang Han have a charming chemistry that will make you wish there was more romance taking place instead of drama.
“My Sunshine”
It was love at first sight for Zhao Mo Sheng (Tiffany Tang) the minute she set sights on the handsome law student He Yi Chen (Wallace Chung). Yi Chen takes some time to get used to the lively Mo Sheng, but once he does, he can’t help but fall deeply in love. When Yi Chen’s foster sister, who is also in love with him, causes problems for the two and causes them to part, miscommunications quickly occur. Mo Sheng becomes a shell of her former self after leaving the nation, getting married, and going through a divorce. After seven years of separation, the two ex-lovers reunite in person. The program investigates whether it’s appropriate for them to resume their relationship after being forced to break it off.
Watching “My Sunshine” is wholesome. The protagonists are two broken souls looking for comfort and consolation in each other rather than your average loving couple. Yi Chen, played by Wallace Chung, wins Mo Sheng over with his calm personality and provides her with the security she most desperately wants.
