Infatuation in the Clouds Neo Hou and Lu Yuxiao have been revealed as the leads by 入青云. This will also be the 24-year-old actress’s first time starring as the female protagonist in a xianxia series, following a string of supporting parts.
Lu Yuxiao’s breakout performance in My Journey to You last year as an assassin demonstrated her talent for playing characters with depth, deftly hiding her sly side beneath a façade of humility. She plays a resolute female warrior goddess in Love in the Clouds who is poisoned and in desperate need of an antidote. She creates a trap for Ji Bozai, the person who caused her illness, in order to obtain the remedy. Neo Hou is the actor portraying said individual. It’s interesting that the 26-year-old actor-singer first came to my attention in the 2017 modern drama Cambrian Period, in which he played an assassin from angelic origins. After seven years, it appears he has been experimenting with costume dramas; hopefully, he will score a hit.
In Love in the Clouds, the two become involved in a cunning game of hiding their genuine intentions in an effort to outwit one another. The author, Bai Lu Cheng Shuang, is well-known for her novels, including Romance of a Twin Flower, from which this tale is derived.
