With the most recent update, Apex Legends revitalized one of the worst maps in the game just in time for Season 21 to start.
After joining Apex Legends in Season 15, Broken Moon rapidly lost the support of the community. In addition to a few significant glitches, a lot of people thought the map’s layout made navigation less enjoyable and that all of the points were overly similar.
With the latest Upheaval update for Apex Legends’ Season 21, that is about to change, though, as Broken Moon receives a number of improvements that make the map worthwhile to play once more.
The map’s overall appearance has changed significantly from the previous version because of the darker color scheme, which gives the scene a considerably more ominous atmosphere. Still, there’s much more to the shifts than just the surroundings’ color.
The POIs are what distinguish this version of Broken Moon from the original. Nowadays, locations like Solar Pods feature brand-new structures and ziplines that provide a higher sensation of verticality.
Broken Moon now has a distinct personality and identity instead of being a map that was always being contrasted with other maps.
Fans seem to be enjoying the modifications as well, judging by their posts on social media. In the Apex Legends subreddit, a user even goes so far as to say that the map has been “fixed.”
It appears that the sentiment surrounding the map has entirely altered, as one fan commented, “So far so good, I love it too!” I believe that this version resolves every issue I encountered with the map. I’m eager to play it again.
Other players have noted that the new buildings on the map feel entirely new to the game overall, not just different from the previous iteration. This adds much more value to Broken Moon and makes it seem like a whole new experience.
When Broken Moon originally arrived in Apex Legends, it was a letdown, so it’s wonderful to see the developers acknowledge and address these issues.
