The cost of the Masterworking mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 4 has changed significantly, according to Blizzard, with material costs rising dramatically.
With good cause, Diablo 4 Season 4 has been dubbed Loot Reborn. It adds several new features and reworks the itemization of the game entirely. These were first tested in the Public Test Realm (PTR) of the game.
The final adjustments were unveiled in the Diablo 4 Season 4 patch after some Blizzard tinkering, albeit certain aspects remained a little hazy. Although specific values weren’t provided, the patch does reference adjustments to the much-awaited Masterworking mechanic.
We now know what some of the Masterworking modifications are, according to a new video that was uploaded to the Diablo 4 YouTube channel. They are significant, with some increases in Masterworking costs up to ten times higher than their original amounts.
A new endgame crafting feature called masterworking enables players to fine-tune their equipment for more complex build crafting. It depends on obtaining uncommon resources from The Pit, a recently added feature in Diablo 4 Season 4. A piece of gear can be Masterworked by players from levels one to twelve.
Masterworking an item during the PTR was relatively inexpensive in terms of resources, but there was a chance that if you tried, you might lose all of your materials and your gear would not become any more effective.
The tiny possibility of failure when utilizing the feature has been eliminated by the developers in order to counter the new increase in Masterworking costs when Diablo 4 Season 4 launches.
Although the price of each Masterworking level is unknown, the most recent adjustments indicate a rather significant cost rise. The following are the known increases, with the new values indicated in bold:

BLIZZARD AMUSEMENT
Your armor or weapon will get a random Affix increased by masterworking.
Discussions among the Diablo 4 community have generally reached the conclusion that, even with the huge price increase, Masterworking’s removal of the failure chance more than makes up for it. Although achieving Rank 12 will still require a lot of work, most gamers will understand that this is an endgame mechanic.
