In Black Ops 6, a Double XP event is active, however participants are certain that the event is flawed after participating in a few matches and observing their progress.
Treyarch is hosting another Double XP weekend in Black Ops 6 to expedite the process of raising your Player and Weapon Level. This weekend started on November 27 and coincided with the reintroduction of Stakeout 24/7. As players returned to Black Ops 6, the move generated a lot of excitement, but things might not be as they seem.
Reports that players weren’t receiving the quantity of experience points they anticipated from matches quickly flooded in after the event started. This caused many to believe that the x2 multiplier had less of an impact because base XP is distributed at a slower rate.
Reddit user “TheRedOneX” stated, “Double XP is not working; sure it’s lit up and it ‘doubles’ at the end of a match, but they did something to the base XP because it’s amounting to [the same as] just regular XP.”
The OP went on, “I was receiving a low of 8k to a high of 15-20k with a double XP token two days ago.” “I’ve played about ten games for the double XP event, and the most matches fall between 4-5k after 2XP applied—it’s broken.” The maximum XP I’ve gotten is 9k.
They weren’t alone, though, as several other players posted that they weren’t receiving as many rewards as they had prior to Double XP’s launch. An irate gamer even referred to the occurrence as a “scam” and posted a video that appeared to demonstrate the issue.
It shows them concluding a Skyline match with a score of more than 12,000, which should translate into the same amount of experience points and a total of 24,000. But when the XP was distributed after the game, they had about 21,500, which was more than 2,500 less than they had anticipated.
It’s important to remember that Face Off matches, such as Stakeout 24/7, give less experience points than standard modes, as some of the responses noted. The lesser gains of players on larger areas, however, cannot be explained by this.
Many responses indicate that rather than the x2 you would anticipate, the Double XP event appears to be providing more like x1.3 XP at the moment. However, it’s unclear if this is a deliberate choice or just a glitch.
In any case, let’s hope the problem gets resolved quickly because the community is eager to level up in time for Season 1 Reloaded on December 5.
