At best, the thought of having your car stolen causes worry. It can be difficult to look for the good in stressful situations like these, but one family found some joy in the midst of the chaos.
A cat mom posted a video on Wednesday, January 10, showcasing her cat’s newfound bond. In the video, their cat befriends a new person while a policeman stands in her flat to tell them that her roommate’s car was stolen!
Oh, this is so incredible! The policeman arrived at their flat early to break the bad news regarding their vehicle. But cats have their own schedules, and this one was eager to play. Fortunately, the policeman was more than delighted to use his laser pointer to amuse his new acquaintance!
This video demonstrates just one of the many reasons cats are wonderful. Despite the difficult time, this cat’s endearing antics helped to diffuse emotions and bring a little light relief to the scene. Our furry pals are not deserving of us!
Cats Are Obsessed with Laser Pointers
Cats are known to have an intense affection for laser pointers. When that pinpoint red light is flashed around a cat, the animal nearly invariably goes nuts and starts racing after it. They enjoy themselves, it’s a terrific kind of exercise, and we cat lovers find it to be very entertaining too!
The reason laser pointers are so attractive is that they feed the natural hunting impulse of cats. Even though the majority of house cats no longer hunt frequently, they still have the instinct from their wild forebears.
These instincts are triggered when they notice a little, scuttling figure on the ground. Indoor cats discover the chance to chase after the bright dot that dances around the floor, walls, and furniture, much like an outside cat might chase after a rodent or a tiny bird.
In fact, just last night I was playing with my roommate’s cat with a laser pointer! I try to give her a tiny treat every few minutes as we play with a laser pointer, to keep her interested and let her know that there’s a reward for her “hunting,” just like there is when wild cats hunt!
Just be careful not to point the laser pointer directly into your cat’s eyes as this could cause permanent eye damage. Additionally, play with the laser pointer in an open area where your cat is less likely to hurt themselves by running into walls or knocking over furniture. They’re only enjoyable if nobody is harmed!
This specific cat was probably thrilled to have a playmate so early in the day. I hope this policeman with the laser pointer has another, more worthwhile purpose to come by again!
