After more than a year, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Shinjuku Showdown Arc is finally coming to a conclusion, and the manga’s finale is drawing near.
The most intense and violent manga arc to date is the current Shinjuku Showdown Arc in Jujutsu Kaisen. Chapter 222 opens the arc with the villains and sorcerers getting ready for Gojo vs. Sukuna. The storyline continues with the majority of the sorcerers battling the King of Curses, despite Gojo’s death in Chapter 236.
We learn later in the arc that the sorcerers had other strategies in place to cope with Sukuna. Additionally, they anticipated Gojo’s downfall and devised a strategy to avoid it. Meanwhile, Yuji and the others have been training.
But there’s a reason Sukuna is referred to as the King of Curses. His immense might allows him to overpower everyone, even with his back to the wall. As a last resort, Yuta Okkotsu assumes control of Gojo’s body in Chapter 261.
Another Domain Clash between Malevolent Shrine and Unlimited Void closes the chapter. Since Yuta can only duplicate a technique for five minutes at a time, he is pressed for time and is unsure of what will happen to him after that period.
According to Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, a recent update from the well-known JJK account verifies that the arc was almost over, saying, “Jujutsu Kaisen ‘Shinjuku Showdown’ arc is at its CLIMAX!!”
They also included a note that read, “Merely take the editor’s statements at their value. The Gojo vs. Sukuna combat continued for an additional 8–10 chapters after this editor last stated that it was approaching its conclusion. However, I’m not sure how long this story arc will last.
Despite Weekly Shonen Jump’s denial, the Shinjuku Showdown Arc was widely believed to be Jujutsu Kaisen’s final arc. After this arc, the manga will continue because there are still secrets to solve.
