After all, TV Tokyo has confirmed that there will be new episodes of the adored anime airing for the 20th anniversary of Naruto on our screens.
Shortly after its 2022 premiere, Naruto rose to prominence as one of the greatest anime series ever produced. In the years afterward, the shonen series about a teenage ninja and his pals has grown into a huge phenomenon with numerous manga and anime episodes.
Naruto: Shippuden, which lasted from 2007 to 2017, replaced the original anime series, which concluded in 2007. A return to this period of the franchise was announced because 2022 marks the 20-year anniversary of Naruto ninjas winning over our hearts and dominating anime conventions worldwide.
September 2023 was the scheduled premiere date for these episodes; however, they were postponed to enhance the overall quality. Up until lately, there weren’t many updates.
It is anticipated that the Naruto 20th anniversary “new animation” will debut during this fiscal year, which runs from now to March 2025, as stated by TV Tokyo President & Representative Director Ichiro Ishikawa. According to Shonen Jump News’ translation, the remarks were made during a Q&A on financial results.
We were previously aware that they were coming, but we are happy to hear that they have a firm release window. Although March 2025 is far off, it will only be here in nine months. Ironically, by then, we’ll be getting closer to the 25th anniversary, but fresh Naruto is still new.
The episodes will undoubtedly take place between Naruto and Shippuden, although we’re not sure exactly what that means. While covering the manga in great detail, the anime also created some filler for Naruto. Fans may certainly expect this to be a brand-new tale that will make us feel something while we try not to admit that we are 20 years older.
