Character teasers for “Queen of Tears,” an upcoming drama on tvN, have been unveiled for its two protagonists!
“Queen of Tears,” which was written by Park Ji Eun, the producer of “Crash Landing on You,” “My Love From the Star,” and “Producer,” will recount the amazing, exciting, and hilarious tale of a married couple who overcome all obstacles to stay together and endure a crisis.
Kim Ji Won will portray his wife Hong Hae In, the chaebol heiress dubbed the “queen” of Queens Group’s department shops, while Kim Soo Hyun will play Baek Hyun Woo, the legal director of the conglomerate Queens Group.
The first scene of Hong Hae In’s character teaser depicts a marriage in disarray as the heiress complains that she is being treated like property by Baek Hyun Woo. Then, after telling her spouse brusquely to “come somewhere with me,” he immediately spits back, “I’m not going.”
However, when Hong Hae In finds herself strangely drawn to Baek Hyun Woo for no apparent reason, things take an unexpected turn. “Could there be a woman whose heart suddenly starts racing when she sees her husband?” she queries, bewildered. Yoon Bomi, who plays her secretary in Apink, responds in a funny way, saying, “It sounds like she probably has a physical illness.”
“I used to be like this,” Hong Hae In begins, adding incredulously, “Now my heart even flutters when I look at my husband.”
In the meantime, Baek Hyun Woo clumsily declares, “My boss is my wife,” at the start of his teaser. I detest her. Naturally, I despise my in-laws as well. But my wife is the thing I detest the most.
But Baek Hyun Woo unexpectedly has the same enigmatic change of heart as Hong Hae In. He is shocked and wonders himself, “Why is she pretty?,” after being in awe of her beauty. Why does she appear attractive to me? Then, to his wife’s amazement, he shows concern for her, openly fretting that she might get a cold, and he even carefully bandages a little cut for her.
Later, as Baek Hyun Woo is in bed at night, Hong Hae In asks him, “If the bed is too small, do you want to hold each other?” which makes him feel uncomfortable. He stops Hong Hae In from leaving at the very end of the teaser to inquire, “Are you going to go to sleep right away?”
