Felix of Stray Kids has apologized for bringing up a Japanese song on Korea Liberation Day.
Felix said that he will be taking on a Japanese animation challenge while interacting with fans on the fan communication app Bubble in the early hours of August 15, which is National Liberation Day of Korea. Many people expressed their disapproval of this, pointing out that it was improper to discuss Japanese material at a national festival honoring Korea’s independence from Japan.
Felix apologizes in full for the following:
Hello, this is Felix.
First and foremost, I would like to apologize to all the fans and everyone else who may have been disappointed by my careless behavior.
In the early hours of August 15, while communicating with fans on a community platform, I mentioned a Japanese song while discussing a short-form challenge.
I sincerely apologize for my lack of consideration and carelessness on such a meaningful day as Korea’s National Liberation Day.
I am reflecting deeply on my lack of historical awareness. I will make an effort to educate myself further in the areas where I have fallen short, think more carefully, and act with greater caution to ensure that this does not happen again.
I apologized once again.
