Destiny 2’s Final Shape has finally come, bringing with it a ton of new modifications to Bungie’s widely popular looter shooter. As usual, the new expansion adds new exotics, a new tale, a raid, and more, along with a new Power cap that players must reach.
Our Guardians get stronger and more capable of facing up against increasingly formidable opponents as their Power increases. The Final Shape will bring about a significant shift in the Power level of content that Bungie delivers with each season.

- 1900 is the minimum cap.
- 1940 Soft Cap
- Strong cap: 1990
- Peak year: 2000
Lowest to soft cap
In Destiny 2, this is by far the simplest way to grind out Power Levels. You may just play the game as you choose and gradually become more strong over time because every drop in the game will raise your level.
Powerful cap
After you reach the soft cap, blues and ordinary world drops will be capped at their highest possible power level, so you’ll need to start doing particular actions that give you powerful gear. As of right now, the only things that can increase your power are powerful and pinnacle level gear, thus you should aim to finish tasks that can grant you access to them.
It’s important to note that if you want to take on the challenge, completing The Final Shape’s campaign on Legend difficulty will provide you a set of Power Level 1960 gear, allowing you to bypass part of the grind.
Pinnacle Cap
In Destiny 2, this is the hardest band of Power to master. Beyond this point, pinnacle drops are the only way to increase your power. At two Power Levels above your current maximum level, peaks will always fall. Although you can’t naturally raise your Power above level 2000, you can do so by using the Seasonal Artifact.
Increasing the Power of Other Characters
Thankfully, Bungie has added a new function that ought to help you level up your other characters as well. With the new feature, your least powerful character will receive drops that are matched in power, greatly enhancing them. This means that your top and lowest character powers will be synchronized.
