In the most recent episode, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made a clear but impactful reference to One Piece, another enduring property.
As one of the greatest anime series, One Piece has been continuously releasing episodes and chapters for the past 25 years, making it one of the most difficult for new fans to keep up with. With so many TV series featuring the heroes in a nutshell, even a property like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles could only dream of such constancy.
In a humorous skit featuring Leatherhead and Wingnut, the most recent series, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, concluded the first season by making light of the ridiculousness of having over 1,000 One Piece episodes.
The Turtles’ somewhat unfortunate companions are burdened with a ticking time bomb. They are panicking because their attempts to defuse the bomb are failing.
“This concludes it. This is the conclusion. “There are so many things I did not do,” Wingnut yells. “I can’t possibly finish One Piece!” Then, realizing that freaking out won’t help, Leatherhead practically slaps some sense into her.
Wingnut’s location in her adventures with the Straw Hats is unknown, but it seems likely that she is far away from the Egghead Arc and the action right now. The issue with starting One Piece now is that you have to live with the burden of knowing how many episodes remain to watch.
Now that all 12 episodes of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are available on Paramount Plus, catching up on the show is considerably simpler. Ideal for passing the time till news about The One Piece, Netflix’s full anime revival of the renowned manga, becomes available.
The production on that is being handled by Wit Studio, although a release date has not yet been set. One Piece Season 2 will also be live-action, and in case any of this gets you wondering about what’s happening in the mainline version, our Chapter 1123 guide will bring you up to date.
