Deadlock’s Player Base Surges During Playtest Phase

Deadlock, Valve’s not-so-secret hero-shooting MOBA, has been through several months of playtesting, and the number of players keeps rising.

Deadlock’s unique blend of MOBAs and hero shooters has been made evident by a ton of gameplay footage that has leaked online despite the developers’ complete lack of acknowledgment. Some have even dubbed it an Overwatch 2 knockoff.

Despite having no public access, Deadlock’s player base has continued to develop as the playtest has. It now has a massive user base. The player count is already creating waves on Steam as a whole because to how large it is growing. This is how it’s all coming together.

What is the number of Deadlock players?

As of right now, 30,798 players are involved in Deadlock, with a peak of 44,512 players recorded on August 18, according to SteamDB.

Deadlock’s Player Base Surges During Playtest Phase

It should be mentioned that because more people are consistently accepting invitations to play the game, the peak player count is being surpassed daily. At its height, Deadlock reported 12,000 gamers on August 12, which was just one week ago.

It is reasonable to predict that it will be easily surpassed, given its current peak of 44,512 participants. Since Deadlock is currently in an exclusive playtest, these numbers are only being generated for accounts that have been invited.

Its current count is comparable to other games with live services, like Warframe, Helldivers 2, and Destiny 2. This indicates that it has surpassed the closed beta results for Sony’s Concord and is on pace to surpass those for Marvel Rivals as well.

Since Deadlock is only available on Steam as of right now, the number of players shown there should be quite close to the actual number of players.
